We were hungry so dropped in at a 24-hour deli, where they have a buffet which charges you by the weight of food that you put on your plate. So we ended up getting about $20 worth of fresh berries and cottage cheese (which is still much cheaper than buying dessert at a restaurant). I also grabbed some Chinese noodles and boneless sweet and sour pork.

At Rockefeller Center there is a huge sculpture of Atlas, the mythical Greek god.

The next day we walked along Church street and found a place with some good Indian food. A heaping plate cost $5 USD and there was a selection of many different items to choose from.

Inside St. Paul's Cathedral is a memorial to the tragic September 11th attacks.

St. Paul's also has a beautiful organ, which I wished that I could hear being played.

We went shopping at the Century 21 Department Store in Lower Manhattan, and picked up a gift for Boris. But then we didn't have any tape, so I suggested we use chewing gum instead.

At the Fulton Fish Market we didn't find any fish, except for a few boats and a shopping mall.

We stopped at a little New York deli, J.P. Mustard on Fulton Street (phone: 212-785-0612), and we ordered a New York Cheesecake (authentic of course) and a Bacon Lettuce Tomato (BLT) sandwich on rye bread.

The cheesecake arrived very quickly. An excellent photo opportunity.

The BLT sandwich cost $4.95 and tasted great. The rye bread was cut thin and was not too dry.

The cheesecake was very light tasting and I think it was made with a touch of rum.

The courthouses along Canal street are humungous, and very impressive with their huge pillars.

Near the entrance to Chinatown, which is a bustling, diverse area with lots of little tourist stands and shops with cheap souveniers.

On my last evening in New York, we all had dinner at a restaurant in the East Village called Yaffa Cafe (97 St. Marks Place). This was a very cool little place with quirky decorations where I ate a wonderful Crab Meat Penne for $18.50 including tax and tip. The penne had lots of real crab meat, with none of that imitation stuff.

That's it, you've reached the end of my New York adventure.
Now feel free to go back to my home page to see some other stuff that I've done.
